We are proud to introduce a groundbreaking new traceability initiative: every single bag of dry pet food manufactured by PETWORLD in Malaysia will now carry its own unique, serialized QR code. Printed directly onto the packaging at the final stage of our production process, with a system that is deeply integrated into the manufacturing line itself, batch by batch, bag by bag.
Why We Built This
As Malaysia’s largest domestic pet food producer, we have spent 20 years earning the trust of pet parents across the country. Yet, we are acutely aware of a gap our industry has never fully closed: pet owners feed their animals every single day without a reliable way to verify where their food came from or how it was made.
A nutrition panel tells you what is inside, but it cannot tell you where those ingredients originated, when the food was produced, or how it was verified. We set out to change that.
This project grew out of a simple but demanding question from our Production and R&D teams: what would it take to make every claim we make about quality, safety, and sourcing something a pet parent could verify instantly from their own phone? The answer is the system we are launching today.
How It Works
Once a pet parent brings a bag of PETWORLD dry food home, the unique QR code on their pack unlocks a real-time, continuously updated data record tied specifically to that batch. A single scan reveals:
- Authentication: Confirm instantly if the package in your hands is genuine Pet World quality or an imitation.
- Key ingredient sourcing: The origin of key ingredients in that specific unit, rather than a generic brand-wide statement.
- Manufacturing details: Serial number, exact time and date of manufacture.
- Quality certifications: Verification against our ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 9001 credentials, alongside our full suite of regulatory approvals.
- Product education: Tailored brand education specific to that product line.
Because each code is unique to an individual bag, this is not a static, one-size-fits-all webpage. It does more than confirm authenticity. Once verified, pet parents also gain access to:
